    installing drivers using SCCM

    Hi,

I downloaded thinkpad drivers in some SCCM format or whatever. I'm linux user and I don't have sufficient knowledge to install this. My thinkpad did not have 'windows installation' partition, so I used on of mine old cd's, and download SCCM exe-something from lenovo website. And I was not able to find any readme how to install it, so I just executed it, there's some DRIVERS directory created full of files, which cannot (by me) be installed manually.

    please help.

Sounds like the EXE was just a self extracting executable.

See How to Install a Driver when there's no Installation .EXE file to run. Is there a .INF file in the top level directory? If yes, install by hand per instructions in that post. If the INF isn't in top level, i would think there should an EXE file there to do the install

    thanks, that helped me.
I was looking for "install it" button, but there was none. Using your hint, I clicked manually on each device and press 'update driver' (since some devices got their driver, not correct one, from windows) specifying filesystem location. After it it's ok.

    thanks,
    mar.
