Can't Change resolution back to default 1080, driver issue?
I have an HP laptop with a 1920x1080 screen. It has always been that way, of course.
About 3 weeks ago while playing a game of league (as I have been for the past 4 years sadly) the game kept crashing and telling me my drivers were out of date. Since this was the first time I had played in a month or so and I've never updated my drivers I figured ok I'll do it. When it crashed it also changed my resolution to 1280x1024 for some reason, but I figured my drivers must've been messed up after 4 years.
I went online on AMD and found the most recent update for my laptop (I dl this: Desktop ) and after I did the game ran fine and my resolution went back to 1080. I did notice that the new drivers downloaded a new app to replace catalyst control center, its called like the AMD gaming center or something. The control center now says it can't open cause it has nothing it can change. I figured whatever it works.
Today I loaded up skype for an update, and when it finished updating my laptop froze. Upon restarting it I noticed it was back to this awful resolution, and I couldn't change it in the settings (the highest resolution it says the screen can go is 1280x1024)
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers about 5 times now, and still nothing. I've tried using the original drivers from 2011, no dice. I really don't know what else it could be. Is there any way I can just force my screen to display as 1920x1080? Since obviously both the screen and graphics card are capable of handling it, the option just isnt there for some reason.
Thanks in advance!
