    Issue with Conexant Audio driver

    Hi all,

I'm experiencing some issues with my Conexant audio driver and I'm hoping someone could help me out. I have a Toshiba P100-437 laptop and for some reason my audio stops working after a couple of reboots. So here is the scenario:

I install a fresh copy of Win7. It installs a "High Definition Audio Device", provided by Microsoft, version 6.1.7600.16385, date 2009/07/13. When I do a windows update, it installs a driver by Conexant: "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio HD2". The sound works for a while, until after a couple of reboots when it just suddenly stops working: the equalizer in the volume control is still moving up and down but no sound is coming out of the speakers. So I force the driver back to the Microsoft's "High Definition Audio Device", after which it works for a while again until after a couple of reboots and then its dead. :/

Does anyone have any other drivers I may try or perhaps any other solutions? I appreciate it, thanks!

Okay, so I was slightly off on my initial symptoms...

It seems the sound drivers only stop working after my laptop as been in Sleep mode (i.e. when I resume). After a full reboot the sound drivers work normally again.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? I'd appreciate the input.
