Sitecom WL-117 Self Installing Adapter driver

I installed Windows 7(32bits) on a new PC. Then I could not get my Network Adapter to work. I'm using the Sitecom WL-117 Wireless Network USB adapter which should install the driver by itself and automatically.Since it is a Self Installing Adapter, the manufacturer doesn't provide any driver online.PS: I can turn on network discovery. Everytime I try to set it as turn on and save changes. But after I close the window and open it again, the network discovery is still set as turn off.How can I get the Adapter to work and connect to the Internet? Thanks!dandy

Hi dandy and welcome to the forum!

Quick question: Were you able to make it work with Windows Vista?

If you answered Yes, then there might be hope by following the Windows Driver Solution post.

If you answered No, that might be a tough one as if I researched it correctly, Sitecom didn't make any drivers for Vista and have no plans of supporting it or coming out with an updated driver in the future.

    Cheers

    Hi,

the answer ist no, because I don't have a vista , only a WIN XP.

But I have found the driver for Vista under Wlan Usb-adapter Unter Vista - WinFuture-Forum.de and downloaded it.

There are three files in the packet:
    ZD11UXP.SYS
    ZD1211U (Security Catalog)
    ZD1211U (Setup Information)

However I don't know how to use it and drive the adapter.
