This thread is about SiS 900 based ethernet adapters, and according to the DevId for your you have this,

PCI Vendor and Device Lists

and depending on which revision of the card you have, hasn't seen a driver update in 10 years. This is one of those where it would be far easier to get something like this,

Newegg.com - Rosewill RC-404 10/ 100/ 1000Mbps PCI Ethernet Card 1 x RJ45

that does have Windows 7 support, than trying to get something as old as your current card working.

I installed win 7 on a friends pc which has motherboard M848A rev 2.1 and needed the network adaptor driver to connect to the internet and downloaded the SiS file mentioned, also downloaded the same file from the pcchips website. When trying to install it states install of ethernet controller driver failed, line missing from INF.
Any help, she badly needs her pc for work.
