Xbox 360 PC wireless gaming Receiver

My OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

    Problem:
When I plug in the xbox 360 wireless receiver the drivers will not load. The light on the device turns on and windows recognizes it as an Unkown USB device.

    • I've tried unplugging and then reinstalling the drivers , it does not work.
    • the package itself does state that it is windows 7 compatable as does the manufacture's website
    • I have used this forum's search and the instructions by walker don't help:

      Go to Properties
      Go to the Drive tab
      Click on Update Driver…
Browse my computer for driver software
Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer

Is the receiver you have one of the stereotypical Chinese counterfeit ones?

If so try here..... Counterfeit Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver Drivers « Self Similar

    Worked for mine.

You could try to start over (uninstall all Device & Drivers for Controller) and then try these ...
