    HP printer driver issues

    Hey everyone,
I am not able to get the drivers for HP Deskjet 640c. Seems to me some problem.
I searched and got this but not sure how to install them
    hp deskjet 640c series driver
HP DeskJet 640C Series - Free Software Downloads - ZDNet Asia
64bitdrivers.com:: HP x64 Beta driver for inkjet XP x64

please help me out with the Installation.

The official site is bugged, doesn't have the drivers as well.

My OS: Windows 7 Ultimate Beta x64.
    Please help me out.

    Thanks.

Usually drivers that you can download from sites will come in some sort of Zipped format which will extract to the C root drive. You can extract, and you can extract and install. It will prompt you. If not, just extract to a known location. Pug in your printer. I know with any of my Epsons I can wait fro the printer to be recognized by windows, it usually will ask you for a source for the drivers. It usually wants them on a cd so that will be the default. There is a choice to locate the driver from a specific location in your C drive. Direect it to that location and press enter or whatever to continue. It will look there and proceed to install it if all else is correct.

    Good luck my friend

There are 640C drivers in Win7, at least in my x86 install, do you show those for your x64 install? You might have to do the Windows update button to see them and they are not listed with other Deskjet drivers, but farther down the list.

You might also want to research how to restore the Print Spooler in case of problems. I used the Deskjet 820C x64 drivers on my x64 install and they locked up my system and resulted in keeping the Print Spooler from starting. They worked fine on my x86 install. I am told you are only offered drivers relevant to your install, but because of my experience, I am not so sure the x64 drivers were not really x86.
