    Backing Up Drivers

I currently use XP. Before I install Win 7, I want to backup my drivers on a DVD. Where do I go to do that?

Drivers are installed. the only way to back them up is to keep the original file and make a copy of it. win 7 uses different drivers anyway. Do you still have the driver cd from the computer mfr?

No, I don't have my XP recovery disk, if that is what you mean. If you mean my program disks, I have those. == What I was thinking was I could back up my XP drivers and install them in W7. I would guess that most of them would work so I would only have to search for a small percentage of them. This might not be sound thinking, but then it wouldn't be the first time :>)

You would be better served if you obtained and copied to a disk or another harddrive the updated versions of your drivers that are made to run on Windows 7.

Not many of the original XP drivers will work but a few might still be useful.
