    USB drivers not installing

I have many usb sticks and a ext drive and none of them will install on my desktop. Everything works on my laptop with no problems.

I have uninstalled from device manager and reinstalled drivers. I have the drivers. They show up in Device manager as active an working, however when i insert a usb drive/stick i get yellow exclamation point under disk drives, and a msg in properties says cannot start device (code 10). I tried many times to uninstall and reinstall drivers. Changed sata cables and sata inputs. It's not one usb port, its the 4 upfront (2 - 2.0 and 2 - 3.0) and the available ones in the back. I do have my keyboard and mouse on usb and they work fine.

Can't think of anything else to try aside from a complete reinstall of windows. Any help in advance would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks Torchwood. After reading through that, i remembered i had my old ssd. Plugged it back in and booted up. USBs worked fine. Guessed it was time to just reinstall. I cloned this drive from a smaller one with Samsung Magician. Decided to do a quick search if there was a problem with the cloning and came across this Gem!

Thanks for the help and for jogging my memory of the cloning.
    Cheers!
