I'have used a tons of drivers update programs, but I think that I haven't found the thrue so far.I use a Dell Inspiron laptop and I have had a lots of problems with its drivers updates.I asked the Dell community forum for help for finding the best drivers update utility for my machine and I got an advice to use the Dell SupportAssist, but that program is NOT a drivers update utility! So I need an advice from you, which program should I use!I've been trying to update the drivers with DriverGenius 15 these days, but it gives me some errors like:"code 64" or "The server name or address could not be resolved" and it couldn't update my drivers! So please help me!There is no matter if the program you would point to me is free or paid!
p.s My os is Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
    Thanks to all in advance!

Hello Inspiron and welcome to Seven Forums :)

As you can see in my System Specs I have a DELL Inspiron Laptop and I go to DELL System Detect to find out what is good for my PC. There you can do tests as well.
But you normally don't need to update drivers all the time. Why did you do it in the first place? Did you have problems and you thought you could solve them by changing your drivers ?

    Dear thelma,
thank you for replying to my thread!
I had some issues with the Extensible host usb 3.0 driver,it gaved me BSOD's on every boot! After repairing and updating that driver with some drivers update utility(I don't remember its name),the laptop worked well!
So,I realized that with updating the drivers my laptop doesn't have problems at all.But and that program was not "perfect",it didn't update the drivers to theirs latest versions,so I decided to look for a driver update program which would update, all of my drivers to theirs latest versions.
p.s I can't go to every hardware components manufacturer's site every month and download the latest updates.
That's all!I need a reliable drivers update program!(I'll repear no matter if it is free or paid)!
    Best regards!

Driver update programs are uselss, and bad. I have never ever needed a driver update program.

You get drivers from the manufaturers website, and sometimes you can use Device Manager to update drivers.

With Dell this is not the case, you usually always have to go to Dell to get your drivers.

There are only a few drivers you need to get from Dell, the ethernet, the audio, the chipset, the video drivers and any other Dell related hardware your pc needs.

I don`t understand why you say you are having tons of driver update problems, you go to Dell and get the latest driver they made, that`s it, you can`t update it any more then that.

And I`m not talking about an nVidia or AMD video driver, those you could try getting from them, but not if it`s a laptop.

Which drivers are you concerned with ?

I did, there are none, they are all garbage and not needed, you get the drivers from Dell.

Period, End of story, as my father use to say :)

I have just been to DELL because I also have some issue with a driver and wanted to find out for Inspiron if it works.
Well, it works perfect, I have just downloaded ( not installed !) 5 drivers from DELL.

You go to Dell Driver Details ( First open DELL Drivers ) as UserName suggested!

Then chick on "Driver help and Tutorials".
Next page click on " How can I determine if there are any updates available for my system".
Next page click on "Determine if a newer driver is available".
Next page click on "Dell Support".
    enter your service tag.
Choose the drivers you want to upgrade.

I have just done it, it's easy
