Thanks for your further reply. No matter which version of the driver I install the touchpad does not work and although it installs in the program files folder there is nothing listed on the Device Manager as far as Alps pointing device for VAIO goes. There is nothing listed for Alps in the Windows/Drivers folder either. I believe there should be something installed there with regards to the touchpad too. Oh well, guess it just isn't going to work. Thanks anyways.

Installing Windows 7 on Sony Vaio VGN0FZ 140E laptop

Hello guys. First of all, great forum.
I have modest knowledge of computer staff...I need a step by step instruction to install Windows 7 on my Sony Vaio VGN-FZ 140E which came preloaded with Vista Home Premium.

    Thanks in advance.

Well guess what. My touchpad started working all of a sudden too, just out of the blue. Weird, but can't complain! :)

problem during install is that the computer states that I'm havin hardware problems and I've tried 3 different windos 7 disks all to no avail! Any pointers would be great!

    Thanks

Hi, I just upgraded my Sony Vaio VGN-FZ140E with Windows 7 Ultimate, but my motion eye camera and the microphone doesn't work... I've tried to download different drivers but I still have no luck. Is there something special, sft, that you did so your camera and microphone are working?
    Best wishes, Atanas.
