driver problems on a fresh install of win7 on laptop

    Hi

ive just recently installed win7 ultimate 64bit on an Acer Aspire f5-572g-70fj laptop. the problem is that the atheros wireless driver and intel management engine interface simply wont install.

for the atheros wireless, after finishing installing and restating, it seems that only the Bluetooth drivers have been installed with the network controller still having the yellow triangle logo.

while the intel management engine interface setup tell me that the system doesn't meet minimal requirements.

ive personally reinstalled the atheros driver's around 4 times (with drivers from different websites) with the exact same result. the network controller will come up as having no drivers in the device manager.
(windows update cannot find them either)

    the hardware ids are:
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0042&SUBSYS_E09A105B&REV_30 for the network controller

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9D3A&SUBSYS_100C1025&REV_21 for the PCI Simple communication controller

i have to get the wifi working since its a laptop for school use :/

    any help would be appreciated.

Have you gone to Acers support site, it actually lists 2 Atheros wifi, and seperate bluetooth drivers, as well as Bios updates.
Be carefull with those as they may only relate to W10 installs.

You don't have to care about the Intel Management Engine - you don't need it. It provides functions useful to a company managing a network of computers

Torchwood is right. I checked and the two drivers on the Acer site for your computer model Athero Wifi device will only install for Windows 10.

I did find Win 8 drivers for it.. But after a bit of looking, didn't see any W7 drivers for that Atheros Wifi. You'll need to get a USB Wifi adapter if you want to stick to Win 10

    Thanks for the reply

I did go on the acer support site and have installed both of the drivers which only seems to install the Bluetooth drivers but not the WLAN, and during the installation one of driver says the wifi driver is only for win10 with the second one saying its installing drivers for vista 64bit. ill try and search for a win7 driver myself.

also could you provide a link to the windows 8 driver?

    EDIT
found the correct driver, the problem is solved :)

DriverMax search for Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter on Windows 7 - 64 bit

its downloads a dodge looking installer so i ignored it at first but then it found out that it was actually legit.
