    AMD hosT CONTROLLER WILL NOT LOAD

    Hi ALL
    I have bought a new HP pavilion 17-p001sa it is a win8 laptop. I prefer win 7 but it seems the manufacturers
    don't want to produce win 7 machines. My problem is I changed the boot to legacy and loaded my win 7 ultimate OS now comes the problems 1 USB ports do not work I have the AMD Host controller and chipset drivers for win 7 but they are on both USB and DVD Both will not load I can understand USB not working but the DvD should work. but open files will not work to let me load them. It is not a bootable dvd any ideas please

    if i am correct, win 8 has native usb 3 drivers, w7 does not. you need the driver package from amd

    you need 2 drivers, the host controller, then the hub driver. use the amd installer

    32bit ---> Chipset

    64bit ---> Chipset

    install and reboot if requested. usb 3 should now be working

    if you changed the boot in bios, reset that, or look for a uefi and legacy option.

    Hi Thank you EmmaRoyd I have them drivers on DVD but when in win 7 they will not open files when cliked

    the disk just whirrs but nothing shows so i cant load them into windows I was thinking of trying to burn a DVD with auto run.info and auto run.exe to see it that will load. I would prefer an amd loader if I could find one.

    while doing some amd driver integration with ntlite(where i am a forum member), i successfully added amd chipset and display drivers to a w7 image, using ntlite to back them up and add to integration, and by extracting the drivers direct from amd's packages with 7zip, then adding them for integration.

    edit, i was also able to add amd usb3 drivers to the boot.wim too for those who like to install 7 from usb3 keys using usb3 ports.
