    dv1000 (problems with Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG)

Hi all, just installed Windows 7 on this dinosaur and everything is up and running smoothly except for the wireless. Windows update automatically installed the driver for:

    Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG

and it shows up fine under Device Manager > Network adapters. It detects nearby networks and shows the option to connect, but I have been unable to connect to any network. My Device manager also has PCI Modem listed under Other devices that have not installed.

Shouldn't the installation of the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG also install my PCI Modem or are these two separate things?

I did search on this topic, but most of the posts were from a long time ago and I didn't want to bring up a dead thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi and welcome

Win 7 may not have a driver for the other device. Which do you want to use?
You should dis able the other in order to enable the correct one to function

Let us know if you need help

Did not even realize that these were two separate modems. I'd prefer to use Intel in this case, so by disabling the PCI Modem it should fix my problems (hopefully)? If the PCI Modem is listed under my Other devices, doesn't this mean that the driver isn't installed and is, in theory, already disabled?

Tried this hint and it's still not working. Can anyone else help me troubleshoot?
