Please see my response below - - as DAN1EL's question above helped ME, I pray it helps you Lads & Lasses as well:
Hello,
I have an acer 7535G Laptop with a HDMI output on the side, however when I try to conect the HDMI to my LG32 INC TV I get no signal, nothing happens on the laptop to tell me I have a connected an external display!
I have used the Fn+f5 key to switch display (nothing)
I have tried using ATI Power Express to get it to work (nothing)
I have also just upgraded to Windows 7 hoping this might make it work, using the same methods & this time also using windows key + x to try and conect an external display, and you guessed it........ NOTHING!
is there anybody thats knows how to make it work!
I had the exact same problem until today, about 5 minutes ago.Had it for months nothing worked..untill I have found and installed this driver from this site:
Acer Aspire 7520 7520G Vista Drivers (32bit & 64bit)
Install the one for regular Vista, not the one for SP1. I have Vista 32(86) so I have no idea if it will work on a 64 version, but you have the drivers for that too in there. VGA Nvidia v7.15.11.6749 (WHQL)
Acer Aspire 7520 7520G Vista 32bit (x86) Driver
(
Download)
Good luck and the Gods bless this site and the person who put thouse drivers on it.

dan1el - - First of all I want to THANK YOU for this:
"I have used the Fn+f5 key to switch display (nothing)".
Reason being, I never would have thought to try that & was thinking about asking something truly moronic (i.e. - Is There A Way To "PING" My H.D.M.I. Port?") - - L.o.L. Thanks to you I don't need to. . .
Anywho - - It's soooo bloody simple I can't believe it worked, as I am no "techie" & so here's what worked for me on my ACER "ASPIRE" 5558-5898 Lap-Top!
DO THIS AGAIN: "used the Fn+f5 key to switch display", but this time, hit your Fn Key first & then at the same time, HOLD DOWN the F5 Key (for 'x' amount of sec's). Now what came up on my Screen is kind of like a Pilot's H.U.D., 8 Icons that will allow you to choose what you need. I believe mine was the 4th or 5th from left, showing P.C. (Lap-Top) with an arrow going to the T.V.
Friendly (& rather accidental) TIP: You'll have to keep holding the Fn Key down to do this, as every time you depress the F5 Key it will scroll through all of the choices continually (until you stop of course ha-ha). Do the same process, if you want to choose any of those other settings.
My Quote for the day should not reflect my intellect, but it might: "I NOW know why they call it the 'Fn Key' - - because I was getting F'N pissed!" R.O.T.F. / L.M.A.O. (Oh I just kill myself sometimes.) I hope it worked for y'all!
Be SAFE, Be WELL & PEACE To ALL!
