Fresh install (backwards) but need some help with drivers pls

    Hi there

You guys were very helpful with the reverting back to Windows 7 from 8.1 that I've finally done it - hoorah!!
So, I'm in the midst of doing the Windows updates, all OK.
First off I had to install the Broadcom WIFI Adapter driver so that I could access my wifi connections and go online - sorted.

OK, I have an Acer Travelmate P253e - have been on the Acer website and input my serial number and got a whole host of drivers which I downloaded.
Everything is working fine with two exceptions:

    1) When I watch something on my usual smplayer, the image is "odd" and when I drag the screen it has lag - I am guessing I need to update or install a video driver? Currently in the Device manager it says " Standard VGA graphics driver" - but I think it should be something more - however from all the drivers I have I'm not sure which one I should install. I don't want to install them all just in case I'm installing something I shouldn't or that I don't need.... I am pretty au fait with things once someone explains, so hoping for some help on that one.

    2) I had Kaspersky running before, but when I tried to install it it was trying to install Microsoft Net Framework 4.0 I think, but it's not managing to do that - should i wait until all these Windows updates are completed, reboot and then try again?

As I say, any help greatly appreciated, any questions you need answering to be able to help me then fire away...

    Many thanks in advance

Oh, The two files (I think are graphics related) are:

    AHCI_Intel_11.1.0.1006_Win7x86x64
    or
    AMT_Intel_8.1.0.1263_Win7x86x64

But as I say I'm not sure which out of these two I should install.....

Neither of those drivers is related to the graphics. Download and install the VGA Intel driver from the ACER site, version 8.15.10.2712

I'm having trouble finding the link on the Acer site, would you be able to tell me which one I need from this listing as many of them seem the same description - are they just updated versions?

Thanks again so much. - I'm keeping all drivers etc on a back up HDD for future haha!!

EDIT: It's ok - I found the scan utility program from Intel which found the driver I had/needed, all is rosy in my garden :)

    Thanks for all your help...

Thanks for that, but that's what I did right at the beginning to get the list of drivers - I downloaded all of them and none of them were what I needed
Thankfully I have identified via the Intel Launcher program what I needed (and with previous posts on here) and all sorted now....

    Thanks again.
