USB not installing, not possible to uninstall code 28 updating driver

    Hello guys,

I just registered to this forum, because before I could solve my own Windows problems, but now I'm stuck.

For some time I'm having troubles installing new USB devices. For example, I want to connect my navigation device (TomTom XXL Classic) to my computer. The control software (Home) is installed, but when I connect the device Windows tries to install the drivers, but doesn't manage to do it. The device appears in the device manager under "other devices". When I try to update the driver, I get error message that a driver is found, but it can't be installed because access is denied.
At the www I discovered some guides to uninstall already installed (but not connected) USB-devices, but I can't uninstall these devices.

What I describe above happens when I want to connect my printer (new Brother DCP-7065DN), my phone (HTC One S), my WD Passport and the navigation device mentioned above.

I also tried the program USBDeview started as administrator, but I also can't uninstall the old USB devices here.

Please help, I don't know where to look for a solution.

    Best regards,
    Mischa

USB install problems in a couple other threads turned out to be malware related. Try running these tools first. Let us know if they help or you still have the same issues. (i would test your WD passport first. That should only need generic windows drivers so should be the easiest to install)
