Failed HDD; How should I proceed?
Hello everyone,
Personally, I don't know much about the hardware of a computer and need help understanding it. Almost half a year ago, my PC crashed for no apparent reason and I kept getting g BSoDS. I had no idea of what happened or why. I finally found an alternative solution; to reinstall Windows. However, I noticed that every 3 weeks or so, it would once again crash, and I had to repeat the entire process several times.
I have identified and removed the failing HDD, but I now need help proceeding so that my computer can run with only 1 HDD. I have switched the SATA controller from RAID to AHCI, but I have to face yet another problem.
Currently, I have gotten to Windows installation screen, but it asks for device drivers needed to access the hard drive, but the problem is, I don't know where to find them. I believe my motherboard is Intel X58 Chipset, and I have looked around, but I don't understand which driver to use. If anyone could guide me, it would be much appreciated
TL: DR: I have 2 HDDs, of which 1 failed and I need device drivers that can access the HDD. I have an Intel X58 Chipset motherboard.
Thank you very much in advance.
