A driver that does not go away

So in the picture of one of my systems I have an update that I am not sure what to do with. I have seen these before and usually when I update my video card driver it goes away. But after installing the latest for my system, I scan for new updates and it just does not go away.

Highlighted in the picture is the driver.

I always download the driver from the Intel website, unzip the package and then in the device manager I install the driver. Not sure then why this one hangs around. Unless there is something else I need to update? I don't use the Intel installer, I right mouse click on the video card and select update via that method and away she goes taking care of the rest.

What am I missing with this update? Is there another Intel update I need to download from them? Just move on?

Sometimes the driver on the Windows updates are a different version, whether older or newer, and it will show up in the updates. Microsoft has a validation process for drivers or software updates. This can take many months and in the meantime the vendor may have a later version on their web site.

Just Right click on that driver and then select "hide".

    Hi,
Yep there have been plenty of problems with MS and Intel HD graphic's updates either failing to install or repeatedly return as if they failed.
Best workaround is indeed Hide the update no fix that I've read about.

Get it from Intel like you have always done :)
