Intel Driver Update Utility showing two different drivers  

I'd like to update my integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver, but the Intel Driver Update Utility is showing two different drivers, one says Intel Graphics Driver, and the other says Intel HD Graphics Driver.

Why is it showing two different drivers and which one, or both, should I install?

Depends on your graphics card, with or without HD,
note1 these are generic drivers if you have an OEM install, use the ones from them, unless your having a problem.
note2 if your specs are correct then use your >>Nvidea<< control panel

Well the Intel card is listed as an HD model, so it would make sense that I should use the HD driver. I just don't understand why it's showing two different ones.

HP does provide a version of the driver, but it's from 2012. It works, but it was recommended that I update by a member from another thread here.

The Nvidia Control Panel has nothing to do with Intel, it's just for managing the settings on my Nvidia card.

Anyone? Still not sure why it's showing two drivers.

It cater to both with and without HD.

Also do take note on the date of the driver.

This is common for most drivers, as it may difference in date of driver and some may resolve certain issue.

The drivers do have logs on each update as to resolve or improved the drivers on bugs &or conflict issue.

So since mine is an Intel HD 4000, I assume that I should install the HD driver? I still don't understand why it's showing two different ones. I don't see any dates listed either, just the version numbers.

There should be notes about each of the driver listed on the screenshot that you took. If you can see your HD 4000 in the supported GPU list, then you should be fine.

The description simply shows the version number and the supported OSes. Yes, I do have an Intel HD 4000 integrated card, so does that mean I should only install the HD driver, or both?

You would not install both, install the HD driver.

But just open Device Manager and update it, it will tell you if you have the latest driver or not.

Thank you. I figured that the HD one would be what I need, I just didn't know why it shows two different ones.

The driver that Device Manager gives via Windows Update is actually older than the one I currently have installed.
