    Cannot connect to internet - Various drivers did not install


    Hello all,

    So the story begins when I inherited an old computer from my parents for my new job. It is a Lenovo V570 with an Intel Core i5 processor. It was running incredibly slow so the guy at Staples agreed that I needed to reinstall the operating system.

    I found a copy for cheap. After a few hours, it installed fine...or so I thought.

    Everything seemed to work fine (from what I can tell) except I couldn't get an internet connection.

    I was led to check DEVICE MANAGER. I could see that various "Other Devices" were not properly installed (see attached image).
    I eventually found that this not uncommon. I attempted to patch what I could find. I downloaded the PCI Controller which took fine. The other drivers have not. From another thread, I figured I should run some diagnostics. It confirmed what I found in Device Manager.

    The lenovo site is truly unhelpful (so far) so at the suggestion of another thread, I went to Intel's site and tried this package. I got the message saying that "Intel(R) Network Adapter is not present." I downloaded and installed the Chipset driver as was suggested. I continued to get the message. See SPECS at the tail end of this post, if necessary.

    I am at a loss as to what I should do...PLEASE help me get this up and running!
