    Thanks alot Fabe - doing that now before I get too much installed on it. I am a bit fed up with the supplies but I would rather not have to send it back. Seems like they have not tested it at all (certainly not restarted it) before sending it out.

    I,m afraid it is still doing it- I formatted & re-installed windows but it still hangs for 30 seconds and gives me the option of 2 lots of windows 7 to choose from. There was no windows.old folder this time but still the same problem

    Done - my comp - advanced system setting - advanced - startup & recovery - un tick time to display list of os - leave on default
