Failed AMD Driver update for SMBus.

Im getting ""Failed update for AMD driver update for AMD SMBus."" It has failed to update last month as well, I have the win update set to Auto. The update is flagged as Important! Do I leave it to sort itself out or is there something I can do to install it?

download and run HP support assistant to see if all your drivers are up to date. Follow its steps if it needs to install new drivers.

then within windows update, right click on the update that is producing the error and select "hide"

I downloaded HP support assistant, then a wizard took over and downloaded AMD Catalyst drivers and updates for Adobe. This morning when I tried to start my computer it started fashing black and white vertical stripes, then the screen went all white and has stayed like that since? I tried another monitor and that one worked So I think the problem is solved, its just that my LG 22" Flatron monitor decided to coincidently call it quits.

I had a similar problem but on a 32 bit OS on an Acer desktop. So I used the AMD version of a support assistant and after a long time it announced that it had updated the drivers. But the Windows Update still showed that the update was needed and had again failed.
The answer became obvious when I thought about it and clicked on "Check for Updates" again! All the odd messages diappeared and now I am clear of apparent problems!

Thanks for the suggestions but Ive already done all that. The computer seems to be working OK without the update so I think I might just hide it as suggested previously by Johnhoh.
