Dell c400 Video driver issues...

Hi There

I'm able to install video driver for Dell C400 (Intel 830M) successfully, but for some reason Win 7 uninstalls it after reboot.

I even tried booting with Driver Signature Enforcement turned off, but it didn't help.

I'm stuck with 640 x 480 :(

Any ideas?

Any luck finding a driver for the C400? I just installed RC1 last night and kinda feel like I'm back in 1983 at 640x480.

Hi, this is my first post. I have a old Latitude C400 and I install windows vista some mouths ago. The only problem is the i830 integrated video card, no found driver to works.... but I try with old driver for 2k / XP taken from fujitsu website... and works fine.

The last week I install a new fresh copy of Windows 7 RC 7100, with the same driver and works with no problems until this moment. Runs like xp with 512 mb ram.

This link is to download driver, note that setup no works. You must be decompressing the file and install manually the drivers.

For first networking and internet access you can use the 3com lan driver for xp, downloaded directly from Dell website

All other drivers be automatically downloaded and instaled with windows update, including a ralink minipci wireless card, soundcard, infrared, etc.

I tried the driver you gave us. it gave a an error 43. it didnt load after restart.

Remenber install manually the drivers via device manager. Setup not works.

didn't work for me either

Hi

The drivers installs correctly, but after reboot, Windows automatically starts installing the driver again. This loop continues and the resolution stays at 640x480.

I'm running Win 7 Beta Build 7000 though.

Can you please post step by step instructions.

I suggest upgrade your laptop bios at the last version (a12) before install drivers.

I upgraded the BIOS to A12 and to Windows 7 RC.

Its not installing it again after reboot but I still don't have any option for 1024x720

Are you connected to internet during the installation. In the first video I remember, you were not connected to internet, but in the last video your wireless is switched on.

Basically I want to know if windows is downloading the following two drivers from internet or installing from fujitsu driver directory

Intel Graphics Chipset (KCH) Driver
Intel Graphics Platform (SoftBIOS) Driver
