Hp psc 500  

I need a driver for this multi function printer (Print + Scan + Copy ).

I can print things but the scan does not work (is not recognized by Windows 7) !

HP PSC 500/500xi All-in-One Printer - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

I have HP Officejet J4580 and had to just copy the driver disc to a folder on hdd then go thru and find all exe and .msi files and set to compat mode for Vista or earlier. After that install went ok and all works now.

I was already at that same page, they dont offer a driver (exe/file dl), bcse the printer is supposedly natively supported by Vista (Vista auto install a MS driver, which makes every function of the HP PSC 500 work, does not work thou under W/ (all features)).

Try installing VMware and create an XP machine (will need XP OS sw). Be sure to add a parallel port device under the virtual machine settings. The standard XP drivers should find the printer and scanner. XP mode does not work as one can not add a parallel port in XP mode.
