danviau, Looks like HP has excellent support on the web. You may find the drivers you need with instructions to install on this page. Good luck to you and hope that you enjoy your time here on SF.

Hi there
you don't have to disable SATA drivers to install XP

"Slipstream" SATA drivers and SP2/3 into your XP install disk and then it will work just fine.

Use the "Driverpacks" site on how to slipstream - together with vLite . nLite to build a nrw bootable ISO.

Just google slipstream driverpacks into XP.

The driverpacks site has XP drivers for all these SATA disks etc.
Cheers
jimbo.

Drivers installed with every logon
Every time I logon, W7 installs drivers for two PCI standard PCI-to-PCI Bridge devices; I don't know why there are two of these devices listed in Device Manager - if I delete them then both come back. Also, W7 installs a driver for an 'unknown device' - W7 gives no clue as to the nature of this...

No sound with P5P 800, drivers installed
Hi everyone, I'm running Windows 7 build 7000, and I have an ASUS P5P 800 motherboard that has an onboard sound device. After connecting to the internet, Windows Update installed 'Sound MAX Integrated Digital Audio' drivers, and the sound icon appears in the bottom right of the task bar. The...
