ASUS Live Update refuses to lauch. During installation it gives an error message though. See the pic earlier. Any quick help would be greatly appreciated.

In this order, I would try SDI snappy installer lite, intel driver detect, and if neither gets you fixed, download and install every single thing on your motherboard web page. Everything. Only the latest updates though - sometimes there will be three things listed in a section that are different updates of the same thing, so that case you just need the latest. I'm pretty sure there is something on that page that you have not downloaded, because otherwise you would have zero problem devices. Also, if you ran intel driver detect earlier and yet got that intel problem device using msinfo32 AFTER that, I don't know what else to tell you. You never specifically said earlier that you ran intel driver detect, nor reported what precisely were its results, as it should have fixed the intel mgt engine driver issue at least.

I tried to install the driver update utility earlier. It just says setup failed, 0x80072ee7 - unspecified error

I think I see what happened. The win7 version you installed was kind of old so it did not have some prereqs that are needed by the intel drivers (probably the mgt engine interface driver), so the critical next step after installing was to run windows update, which you could not do since you had no internet access. So what you need to do now is get windows updated, or at least updated to a 2016 condition, and after that the intel driver detect or sdi snappy driver installer should work, and its also possible that windows update itself will update your drivers. This link tells you how to windows update your machine even though you have no network access. You download a bunch of files to a usb drive using some other machine, then move the usb drive to your problem machine so you can copy those files to the desktop then run those files. You should read the whole page before starting this..

Okay, I followed that guide. But it doesn't work. I'm quite sure I did everything just like in it.

What can I do at this point? Can I install a newer version of Windows 7 with the essential drivers in it?
Doesn't look like I can do much.

I was wondering if asus has something unique that is a pre-req for everything, and came upon this ATKACPI program. Try running it, and seeing if asus live update works after that. Apparently it comes pre-installed on all asus windows laptops and may be a pre-req to install other devices
