    Speech/audio problem

Ok, haven't had hardly any problems with Windows 7 and i love it. I can't stand going back to vista. I have one problem though. Every time i open up Team Speak, Ventrillo, or Xfire the screen freezes for about 45 seconds and then it lets go and lets me continue on. then if i mess with settings it freezes again then lets go and so on and so forth for closing and yada yada. I tried today to run Ventrilo while playing Left 4 dead. When i entered the game I lost all my friends in Vent and could barely hear them. What gives is it an audio driver or what?

I am having problems with xfire and using voice chat, I have tried everything suggested such as firewall settings and unninstalling antivirus etc etc and I am beggining to beleive this is a problem with UAC, not something cureable by turning it on off or halfway

could this be related to your issues ??

yeah sounds exactly like it only mine laggs and freezes when i change settings. not to mention i have to wait 2 minutes everytime i boot up. well any program that uses speech freezes when it starts

i did however read somewhere that if you disable direct input to xfire it might help

haha bump it all, I've given up all thoughts on what it could be. maybe its a bad sector in my hard drive. at any rate what im going to do is reformat my hard drive and just reinstall Windows 7 clean. I'll let everyone know how its goes.
