Problem with my SD card reader

I have a Toshiba Satellite A215, i take a lot of pics with my phone using a microSD and use an SD adapter to upload photos. i never had a problem with vista using the SDcard reader on my toshiba, but i just did a clean install of Windows 7 Pro and my pictures aren't loading, however it does know the file is there. simple solution, i have a USB microSD card reader and popped it in and it immediately recognized it. BUt, i raelly want to fix my SD card reader. I went to Toshiba SUpport and could not locate any drivers for my problem. I did download every available driver for WIndows 7 64 bit that they had though. I have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S7444 if anyone can help me, Thank you very much.

Welcome to seven forums Pitbull2o08: I don't see any specific card reader drivers on their site either. In device manager,do you have any hardware with a yellow triangel next to it? Fabe

I had a card reader which W7 setup didn't find or recognise. It didn't show up in DM following installation. I whipped it out and strapped up another one - it was found and installed immediately - and the former one went back onto a Vista machine and was discovered and installed automatically.

Go figure... it makes no sense...

SD is limited to 2Gb, SDHC goes beyond 2Gb, hence you need an SDHC card reader for cards larger then 2Gb as a simple SD reader can't do this.

Well, thanks for that but Windows Vista, and Windows XP with no problems with this SDCard reader. Problems occur with the installation of Windows 7.

If it was actually an SDHC card reader then why call it an SD card reader?

    Hi there
is this card reader one of the O2 Micro SDHC one's found on laptops.

If this is the case then one of the Card reader drivers from this site will probably work.
    Twinhead GmbH

just pick a laptop approx the same size as yours - actually the card reader for stylebook H12Y seems generic enough for a lot of laptops -- doesn't have to be a twinhead one.
    (Pick a VISTA driver)

You could also try this one it works on x-64 W7 Enterprise on a laptop - I think it should just about attach (< 8MB)

    Cheers
