Hi Guys

I need some help please. Recently my usb mouse stopped working, I tried all the other usb ports but mouse not working

Now when I turn on pc after login win 7 is trying find driver from update but after long time is unsuccessful.

In device manager usb mouse is unknown. I have tried 3 different mouse & a wireless but still no luck
I have tried manually to install driver same problem, Restored pc to earlier date but still the same

Went to safe mode mouse did work once after that did not work again
Many times I deleted all usb in device manager and in safe mode too after restart still problem.

I did Malwarebytes scan and also Norton internet security full scan but nothing, Tried check disk and in safe mode nothing.

Everthing else works in pc also ps2 keyboard works.

My desktop pc is: windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
Gigabyte AM3 motherboard with latest bios & chipset driver.
CPU AMD Phenom X4 32ghz
On board graphics.

Try a PS/2 mouse. This will give you a mouse until you can get USB fixed.

A similar thing happened to me about 2 years ago. USB simply stopped working on my computer. Fortunately I have PS/2 ports on that computer, and fortunately I had a PS/2 keyboard and mouse available, so I was able to work. But I had to run a long Ethernet cable across my living room to get online, because my USB wifi adapter no longer worked.

The first thing I did was try the things you did, to fix the USB problem. But I never could get it fixed, so I finally gave up and installed a USB3 controller card. This gave me four working USB3 ports. So although my onboard USB ports were dead, at least I had some working ports.

Then, a few months later, I discovered that my onboard USB ports were working! I have no idea what caused them to start working. Perhaps a Windows update?

Anyway, I now have a lot of USB ports on that computer, including four USB3 ports, so it wasn't a loss for me to purchase the USB controller card.
