From the information on Intel's page I linked to - it would appear that there are no drivers for other than Windows 10, this is happening more and more as Windows 7 approaches End Support

You would need to contact Intel directly, to check on any possibility of using an older driver to use this hardware in Windows 7

My new laptop has an 8th-gen CPU, and the primary VGA is VEN_8086&DEV_3EA0, not 5917. Anyway, I inserted the correct device line in the INF, NOPed the bytes in the DLL's as instructed. The installer ran fine, and even the VGA's description in the Device Manager changed to Intel(R) UHD 620 etc, but with a yellow triangle even after a restart, and basically no Aero was enabled or anything else...

From what I understand the proposed solution is valid for 7-th or 6-th gen CPU's, but is there any update for the 8-th gen (DEV_3EA0)?

Don't know if this will work for you

    https://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/ev...Driver_2.0.rar

You need to rt click and "save as" or "save link as" depending what browser you use. Biostar made it.

I don't know if it is only for HD630 or if it will work for your uhd620 thing. Only one way to find out.

OMG mate, I owe you! I downloaded the driver you proposed, and after adding the line

    Code:
    %iKBLULTGT2R% = iSKLD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3EA0

in the W7 section in the .inf file, I ran the installer, and indeed the card was successfully identified and installed. And after the reboot, like a miracle, Aero got enabled, and the resolution went to 1920x1080.

Thank you SOOOO much! You made me very happy, honestly!

According to biostar you did not need to add the line:

    %iKBLULTGT2R% = iSKLD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3EA0[/CODE]

in the W7 section in the .inf file

I wonder if it would have worked had you not added the line? The reason I ask is we are trying to validate whether the biostar tool will work for those not too technically inclined

EDIT: I see now that the biostar tool DOES include Coffee Lake Hardware IDs but does NOT include Whiskey Lake (PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3EA0 is whiskey lake) so the tool should not work for you unless you add the line to the .inf like you did)
