Hi,

Anyone have a windows 7 driver for the touchpad?
it's a IEI Integration Corp DELL081C:00 044E:121F Touchpad
HID\DELL081C&COL03

The windows 10 driver (obviously) doesn't work and my n00b level mod of the inf didn't work. I know, i know win7 blah blah, but hey if someone knows or can lend a hand?

To get the touchpad working in Windows 7 on the Dell Latitude 7390 / 7490 you first need to install the "Intel(R) Serial IO I2C Host Controller" AND "Intel(R) Serial IO GPIO Host Controller", The driver can be found here.

Then you will need to install the drivers for the "Alps I2C HID Device" and optionally the "Dell Touchpad" driver that includes the touchpad software (if you don't install the latter driver then the generic mouse driver will be used).
Both v10.3201.101.108 (A00) and v10.3201.101.211 (A04) of the Windows 10 driver packages that appear on Dell website contain Windows 7 drivers for older models of the touchpad, those Windows 7 drivers are also compatible with the touchpads in the Dell Latitude 7390 / 7490, and only need a simple modification to the .inf file to include the newer Hardware ID before they could be successfully installed on Windows 7.

I have attached the updated .inf files for both packages.

p.s.
1. "Enable Legacy Option ROMs" must be enabled in BIOS for Windows 7 to boot successfully.
2. To get the graphics working properly on the Dell 7390 / 7490 under Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 follow these instructions.

I'm not sure what happened to the .inf file and I currently don't have access to a local copy, but IIRC the modification was straight forward.

Hello,

It's really recommended to check your manufacturer website to get the driver but you can use a safe tool called Snappy Driver Installer Origin ( make sure to get the Origin not the other clone ) This tool is open source and its clean, You can use it to install any drivers you might need.

Hi all, did anyone manage to resolve this and would it be possible to provide a link to the modified touchpad driver? I've dowloaded v10.3201.101.211 (A04) mentioned above and I see the Windows 7 drivers but I dont know where to start in modifying the INF to include the hardware IDs for the newer trackpad (I've attempted but must be doing the wrong thing). Any help would be really appreciated as everything but the trackpad is working.
