Installing a driver for the touchpad on Asus Vivobook S410UN Windows 7

I have an issue with the touchpad of an Asus Vivobook S410UN.

The touchpad was working in the BIOS and in Windows 10. It stopped working after installing Windows 7.
I tried 15 different versions of drivers.

The touchpad device is not found at in the Device Manager. I can't see an entry like "Mice and other pointing devices -> Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad" or any similar.

I have no idea how to fix it. I tried googling without any result. I know that the S410UN doesn't have official driver support for Windows 7 but I installed drivers for all the other devices with a few tricks (like .inf file modifications before driver installation).

IIRC someone here maybe a year ago had the same issue and the problem was that their notebook needed a pre-requisite driver that needed to be installed prior to the touchpad driver, or else the touchpad driver would not install. If W10 is still bootable on your machine you can export a list of all your W10 drivers to a file in order to compare them to your win7 installed drivers, to see what is missing on W7 that was on W10. It was called something like a platform driver. Another idea is to run the Intel DSA program and see if that does any good.
