    asus VivoBook 15 X540UA-GO775 windows 7 drivers.....need help

    Hi
I bought an asus VivoBook 15 X540UA-GO775 laptop and installed windows 7
While installing I noticed that the mouse pad does not work (and a mouse did not either) and after installation, I saw that most drivers do not work out of the box....specifically at this stage
    usb and mousepad.

I tried to download drivers from asus. they have windows 10 drivers and "other".
I downloaded "other" and got a zip file named X540UARAS301
when extracting from this zip (with 7zip) I get a directory named X540UARAS301 with one file named X540UAR-AS.301
when extracting this I get another directory X540UAR-AS with a file C2262100[VOL] .... which extracts as a directory C2262100[VOL] with files CEF5B9A3 and FFFFFFFF.... and that is that..... I do not know how to use these drivers... and anyway I suspect they are not for windows 7.

So... I need help, where to acquire windows 7 drivers for this laptop?????

I tried all kinds of driver sites and they seem to be all very shady (try to get you to download something that will "solve all your problems", do not actually offer you the drivers)

    Hi-

I suggest that you go here-

    http://download.driversupport.com/lp/bppc/alt?tid=top-oem&oemid=13236&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=PPC&utm_term=Asus_Product_Support&utm_content=creative}&u tm_campaign=TopOEM&m=ASUS&s_kwcid=AL!4343!10!79920809906325!29392226524&ef_id=W8SeBwAAAI7T-2m3:20181221165943:s

    and follow the instructions.

The file you downloaded is the BIOS. Not sure why there's no .exe. Maybe one just double clicks on the .301 file. Didn't try it.

The asus VivoBook 15 X540UA-GO775 should have Windows 10 pre-installed. No need to install Windows 7.

Apparently he had the same opinion of Win 10 as many others who have returned to Win 7.

What (mostly) worked for me was SDI. using it I managed to find all drivers except the touchpad.
This could not be found ..... any suggestions?
The download.driversupport.com requires to purchase a register and I am not sure it will help if I do.

so Thanks for all who helped me and if you have suggestions concerning the touchpad, I will thank you more

Since Asus doesn't provide any drivers for your system at it's website for anything other than Win 10, I guess Win 7 isn't supported. You could try installing the Win 10 touch pad driver. If it didn't work, you would have to roll it back.

I suggest that you contact Asus for clarification.

Go into the BIOS > Main >Touchpad and change it from Advanced to Basic and then save and close.

Have no nvm driver for windows 7

I actually stand with sir wither 2 & advise to try the driver listed under win 10. The driver definitely support win 8, 8.1, 10 32/64 & should work fine with win 7 as well. So, make a system restore point & try the driver.
    But
There are two different drivers for two different models. They mention them as 'x540UA' & 'x540UAR'. I actually don't know what they refer to but updating your specs with Speccy Portable will make it sure.
    Speccy - Portable

    Let me know.

    Thanks & Regards. ...
