Must Reinstall Wireless Driver Over and Over

Just started a new issue and I don't know how to fix it. There are two drivers showing up for my wireless Realtek RTL8188CE driver. One is from 2011 and the other from 2013. Every time I start my computer, Windows 7 Premium Home, I have to reinstall the 2013 version to use the internet. I can connect OK but pages won't load until I go to Properties and Drivers and chose the 2013 version and install it. Then everything is fine until I shut down and restart, like the next day. I also can not get Network Diagnostic Policy Service to run. I have done a Google search and tried all of the fixes I can find and none of them work. The Service will start and then immediately shut down. Help me, PLEASE. I have been working on this for days. I even did a system restore with no luck. Chuck

Are you running a 64 bit windows and is the 2013 driver a signed driver if its not it will be kicked off on reboot follow this to see if its signed How to verify that system drivers are digitally signed - gHacks Tech News

    Access Denied
This is a Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 80211n NIC Version 2011 not working and the Version 2013, which I constantly have to reinstall is working. Chuck

just click on the link in post #3. The "access denied" words might have thrown you for a loop, but that's a bug in the forum. The link takes you to a page that tells you how to find a device's Hardware ID. Aka the PCI/VEN number.

Here are the numbers it shows...

    PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176&SUBSYS_821210EC&REV_01
    PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176&SUBSYS_821210EC
    PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176&CC_028000
    PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176&CC_0280

    Hope this helps. Chuck

There are a few things that could be your issue. Here are the steps I would take

    1) Download the driver from the microsoft site for your pci/ven number. Here it is. Don't install it yet though

    Microsoft Update Catalog

    2) physically remove your offending network drivers. Go into device manager, right click on the network adapter and select uninstall. When it asks you if you want to also delete the software for this device, say yes. Then reboot.

    3) Upon that second boot windows may install a different driver for your device. If that happens, repeat step 2 again until windows does not find any software to install for the device.

    4) Then install the driver you downloaded in step 1. If your problem is then fixed, great. If it is not fixed, I'm betting this is not a driver problem.

    5) reset windows network settings. Do start > run > cmd, then execute the following commands:
    ipconfig /flushdns
    nbtstat -R
    nbtstat -RR
    netsh int reset all
    netsh int ipv4 reset
    netsh int ipv6 reset
    netsh winsock reset
    then reboot

    6) If your problem persists, you may have a router problem. I have no thoughts on how to troubleshoot it other than to reboot the router, and/or update its firmware. But if its a problem with the router hardware, your best bet is to see if the problem also happens when on a different router

    7) If none of the above fixes it, it could be that your network adapter is failing. Failing hardware can product weird symptoms.

    8) Its also possible its something I am not thinking of.
