Hi Paul Black i am really not expert in operation like you. Hence requesting you to guide me step by step one at a time. Please let me know what to do 1st. I have also posted a registry item screen shot of the unknown device issue. Please check it and let me know whether it will be fruitful for you to analyse or not. Eagerly waiting for your reply.

Please goto My => BATCH PROGRAMS [Standalone] and download and run the Problem_Devices.bat under the msinfo32 [MS System Information] - Problem Devices . . . section. It will contain the description of the problem device[s] and the error code with the reason why it is a problem.

The batch script extracts this information to a .txt [text] file on the desktop ready to upload to the forum for us to look at!

I hope this helps!

I assume you already tried win7 built in troubleshooter?
Control Panel > Troubleshooting>Hardware and Sound > Configure a device.
Unknown device under Universal serial bus controller in device manager-troubleshoot.jpg

Then, in device manager, rt click the usb devices one at a time device and select uninstall. All of them. Don't uninstall the category, just each device. Then reboot.

Microsoft used to have a fixit but they have stopped that service.
