Does Windows 7 accept installing drivers for devices not seen yet?

    Hello!

I am making a custom Windows 7 image on a Virtual Machine. i will capture then deploy to a LAB full of same PCs. Now i want to know if i can install drivers for the actual PCs while still on VM before capturing?

Welcome to theforum forum it's not clear what you want to add VM has its own drivers for things it finds on the host. Depending on how your deploying you could add drivers but may need admin rights and a reboot may be needed. It's not straight forward not knowing what your installing and what version of Windows sp level

The installing of drivers before their devices are plugged is nothing new to windows, in theory you should have no trouble installing drivers for the actual computers soon to receive the w7 image. I'll be listening in to learn.

[1] Which software are you using to create the custom image [Win Toolkit etc or some other]?
[2] The easiest way is to incorporate the drivers [DISM++ etc] needed into the .wim before you compile it and create the custom installation media!
[3] Not sure about the legality of the licensing though!

    I hope this helps!
