Is it always the same key that fails? What if you press SHIFT + key together - still blank?

It looks to me to be a keyboard problem, rather than a driver problem (I have not known a driver to cause that kind of issue). To confirm, can you try the external keyboard on a different computer?

    Hi there Iko
Thanks for getting back to me.
I will press the SHIFT and the + keys together.
    One moment please

    "No" still the same

    I pressed 1 YES 2 YES 3 NO

The external USB keyboard works fine on another machine

In case you are having problems with the file then please perform the following . . .

[1] Download this file to your Desktop => Attachment 410134
[2] Double-click the downloaded file and PRESS 2.
[3] When the file has finished running, double-click the Desktop file Prob_Devices, and then paste the results into your post.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Paul
    Thanks for that.
I got as far the DOS screen then was stopped in my tracks because it said "I needed run it as admin"

I can get to the Command prompt as "Admin" the line being
    >
    >
    C:\Windows\system32>

If I am going to type in more characters can put the USB keyboard back in ?

The error is a PCI Error. PCI [Peripheral Component Interconnect] is a local computer bus for attaching hardware devices in a computer.

You will need to find and install the driver which could possibly sort out the keyboard error!

    I hope this helps!

    Hi sheffieldyorky,

If you goto the Asus website and then put in your make and model you should be able to see if there are any drivers available.
Here is the Asus support wesite => Asus Support.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Paul
    Thanks for that
[1] takes you straight to the ASUS website

[2] takes you to the dynabook site.

    I type in the following;
    Toshiba Satellite C 850 - 1KN
    I get nothing
Then there is or select a product.
    So I select laptops
to the right is product series
On the drop downs there is no reference to Toshiba, I'm not going to list them all

Here I type in "Toshiba Satellite C850 - 1KN" which is the make and model that I am looking for.
The results are divided into two colums
    Toshiba support and Microsoft support
    Toshiba support
Has no mention of my make and model
    Microsoft support
Has one mention of my make and model, please see below.
