No, just USB plug to computer and printer do not change the Usb cable. I think it is something to do with your configuration, you have surely changed parameters and the printer gone wrong.

You should be not far to have it work.

Maybe go in the Panel Control => Devices Manager => search for the printer and right click to it and uninstall the printer WITHOUT deleting the Pilote Driver, then restart your computer while the printer is still plug to your computer and printer set to ON

Hi, printer drivers for hp is more than 100 mb. i want basic driver for hp deskjet 2130, which will not get hp annoying alerts and popup of ink level low etc.
Default drivers from window updates by default selects usb virtual port, causing unwanted popup and alerts
I just want a basic driver to print and nothing more and nothing less

Basic simple way to achieve this ... Buy an old second hand printer that still runs on an older connection protocol, sell the Deskjet 2130 to fund this if you wish, you may also need to add a specialist Parallel or serial Communications port to your computer as these are rarely fitted these days

The printer you have, which is still on sale at amazon, which is working fine when connected the way it is designed to, by your own admission, 100MB is nothing for a printer driver for a modern system - the market wants all the bells and whistles

I have not seen a printer for home use that supports LPT protocol in a good number of years, the protocol is still supported for large Office or Industrial use printers

One other possibility, disconnect the printer, completely uninstall and remove all traces of the printer and it's driver, reboot the system, switch on the printer and see if Windows has a basic driver for this printer, the drivers that HP provide to Microsoft are usually fairly basic items usable with several printers

Hi, from barman point, i think that the software changes would have the effect of setting usb001 port. My query is why virtual, as virtual port is a kind of imaginarly port. is it not, when actually i had it connected with physical port.
the technical terms confuse me a lot.

USB was not a standard "printer port" when the NT operating system was developed, (this is still at the base of all versions of windows upto and including Windows 7), therefore as the technology progressed where USB was was used for Printers a technique was required to facilitate this. Software routines were written to convert the command from the printer driver to commands usable by the USB ports, as these ports were not true of printer ports they became known as "virtual ports" The first available port is assigned as USB0001 and as you add more USB connected printers further ports are created (using USB001 for attaching a printer via USB, automatically creates USB002 when you connect the printer)

You can take a look at this link ... What Port to Choose for a USB Printer? | Chron.com

Regarding the prompts and other information that the current driver gives, these may be optional check the Printer manual for options

There is also a problem of downloading older versions of driver. i unnstalled the driver, by discfonnecting the cable and thendisabled drivers from automatically updating drivers.
Downloaded the older version worked best for me and then, disconnected the internet as a precaution and then exexuted the driver software. Once, i connect the usb cable , it automatically installs the driver , not from the software but from the window updates.
because, the install screen suddenly closes and allows auto install of the drivers , even when i disabled the auto update
    why

Hi, NoN, i already had ccleaner and i regularly clean.
my concern is why hp, is having these much of registry entries in the registry
no other program has this much entries, particularly in hklm, the line by line entries were found for HP
i have solved this , not with ccleaner, it ofcourse cleans registry, but there is another tool, free to clean.
of course you have to take a risk to delete the entries.
the tool is regscanner by nirsoft
it is free and just opening and correctly give what to look for, for example i just input \HP|, because i find all the path , in c program files \hp\. within a minute, it came wiht 690 entries, j just right click select all and then delete selected. and alll has gone.
But still the hp printer device was shown as pending deletion.
then i had done this to get rid of it
went to run, services.msc, spooler services stopped it
and then went to c:windows system 32, spool\printer and deleted teh temporary stored entries pf pending printing jobs.
rebooted it and the device is gone.
the device was shown, even when, i power off the printer and removed the cable
    hp is annying experience

Indeed strange, as your specs show a custom build. Generally pre-build PC comes with a lot of branded bloatwares, thus all those entries. Yes docs pending in printer are quite annoying to delete. You must have install not only the drivers of the printer but all those softwares that came with it.
