If your specs list the correct system then according to the website 10 is the only supported system. You might be able to get away with using 8.1 because it has drivers for usb 3 (I don't know about 3.1) but 7 doesn't have native drivers for usb 3. Also there are some chipset drivers for 8.1. I found 7 drivers for your chipset however they only go through the 8th generation. Download Intel(R) Management Engine Driver for Windows 7* It might be worth trying. I don't have any experience getting 7 to work on newer hardware. Hopefully someone else with more knowledge will come along.

You might need to enable them in bios. Might be something like legacy usb setting somewhere in bios.

You could also boot this 17514x64v24.iso and use dism++ to install first the driverframework update and then the usb3 stack into your windows 7 partition.

Then try the second part of my last post.

If you go into device manager, are there any exclamation marks for anything? Particularly the chipset?

All of your drivers for the motherboard are at the manufacturer's website.

Is this computer the 'hp pavilion gaming desktop' listed in your system Specs.?
