    vodafone USB connect 4G v2 IK41VE modem

    Hi,guys,
I have this brand new vodafone 4G usb IK41VE modem/dongle but for some reason it only comes with windows 10 & linux drivers, i need to find a windows 7 driver for it?
Alcatel sell the exact same product called a linkkey that has all the normal drivers you would expect?
Could anyone help me find where i could get a windows 7 driver for it please? I tried downloading the Alcatel software incl the drivers but it didnt work.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Try to install it on windows 10, then extract the driver files and install on win7 system. This might work if you really can't find the working driver.

Please you could provide the HardwareIDs for the dongle? If you can it would make the possibility of finding a Windows 7 driver much easier.

First, plug the wireless dongle in. Next, click the Windows icon in the bottom left of your screen. Search for "Device Manager" and open it.

Once Device Manager is open, see if the "Other devices" dropdown box is expanded. You might see "Unknown device" under it with a small yellow warning triangle (Or for example you might see "Network Controller" etc. as pictured below).

For any yellow triangle devices, right click on it then select its properties. Go to the "Details" tab, expand the property box and select "HardwareIDs". Copy and paste any HardwareIDs here for us to view.

(Alternatively, if there is no "Other devices" dropdown box, expand the "Network Adapters" dropdown box and see if there is anything with a yellow triangle)

    Thanks

Hi fox computers, i plugged the vodafone usb modem into my win 7 computer & in device manager i have 4 uninstalled "mobile network" devices (yellow triangle) but dont seem to be able to find the device drivers you mentioned, nothing installs at all once inserted.

This is the exact same device as the vodafone modem, but sold as a ALCATEL linkkey.

Except the ALCATEL has all the regular drivers and the vodafone has hardly any, only win 10,linux & i think android 4.4. I booted from a tails dvd with the modem plugged in but again could not get it to connect to the internet even after setting the APN etc

I can not find the drivers for the ALCATEL modem on the ALCATEL support page either, i did download something from the site a while back but it didnt work, when i contacted them they said the drivers are pre installed on the device,i wanted them to tell me where i could get an external download as they didnt know mine was a different brand.

Im looking at buying a cheap win 10 disk from the bay,do you know if i buy a disk,if i can install without the product key and still use it for 21-30 days before having register with microsoft? Like win xp,vista & win 7 etc Thanks!

Hi samuria, Do you know anyone with a copy of windows 10? im looking into buying a copy of windows 10 from online auction.2 days left and its at £3 at the moment without a product key though? think also £2 postage, i might need a key if you knowe where i can get one from, 64-bit home or pro editions, the home 64-bit is £7.
Also do you know if you can get android 4.4 on disk? as it says that online in someone elses listing who is selling the same usb modem.
Never used android so dont know where to find a android operating system.
I may just sell this vodafone modem as im using a 4G K5161z cat4 usb modem at the moment that seems to be alright now as i did have issus at first,it was continually downloading non stop, think it was because it was originally intended to be inserted into vodafone routers as a backup 4G & not for normal use. there are loads of them for sale online for £6+,they do not install a connection manager so it auto connects each time & adds a new version, this is on the 48th connection & to stop it you have to disable it in the connection properties status box where ive unticked all the boxes except the ipv4 one.

    Thank you for your reply!

Hi, fox computers, these are the other 3 IDs that say mobile broadband with the yellow triangle next to them.
The other i added before says MBIM control what ever that means/is so thats the 4 yellow triangle hardware IDs you asked about.
Have you ever used driver detective or drivermax?

    Thank you.

I have checked to see what was online about the HardwareIDs, but did not find anything to suggest that might be useful.

If you are asking about DriverMax because you saw this:

Download and install hspa Modem MobileBroadbandDC Diagnostic port - driver id 1528600 (drivermax.com)

(For moderators concerned: VirusTotal - URL - 6ed4f3e3a744800f217575367044f2553786fab23a6c14943ad5800b63c6ec42)

Then you had the same forlorn hope as I. The download button at the bottom of the page will only take you to download DriverMax and not just provide the driver mentioned in the article. I do not recommend DriverMax (Or Driver Detective), such are only scareware programs and will try to get you to hand over money.

However, you could try Snappy Driver Installer Origin:

Snappy Driver Installer Origin – Glenn's Page (delahoy.com)

It is completely free and may find a driver for your modem. If you get stuck there are plenty of guides covering how to use it. Just be sure to create a system restore point before using it in case any driver it installs causes issue.

    Hope this helps,
