some driver installed itself without my permission, how to remove it?

No need to worry, in fact not having an antivirus isn't a vulnerability, it can even boost your security by removing a program with such a big surface to attack. My first suggestion, still unrelated to the question, is to leave it uninstalled.

The name itself indicates the driver is part of Remote Desktop, the built-in remote control tool of Windows, and since you have Windows Professional Edition (as per your specs) you already have it available.
The most likely explanation is that an update came in after the restore point and updated or added that driver. It would be totally normal to have such changes. You can verify that the file is legit by looking at certain clues like the file name and location (anything other than windows\system32 or a subfolder would be suspicious) and most important checking its digital signature, if it's signed by Microsoft itself is very likely legit, but any other signature or even worse no signature at all would indicate a problem.
If that happens your system is most likely infected and you must reformat it as soon as possible.

I'm very interested in knowing how did you came to that conclussion. Nothing in the name suggest that, in fact it explicitly names Remote Desktop and printers, indicating it may have something to do with printer sharing across remote sessions.

My guess is that is came within a Windows update, so if you have it enabled and installing automatically, that's your permission
Updates don't appear in the installed programs list, but in the installed updates section of control panel. While the list makes it really hard to know what update does what, some indicate their purpose, and the KB articles are rather complete if you take the time to open each one (that's the real problem).

MS 2006 drivers are installed as part of your initial set-up, so that, in your case RDC is >>immediatlaly<< available
you have to create a a remote connection
(IT IS NOT SPYWARE)

You can easily turn off Remote Access, its a standard MS option
and considering this driver relates to printers, according to you, then this will be irrelevant even if its on your comp
(nothing todo with any program by the way)
