Installing Win7 but no drive showing

A friend wants me to install Windows 7 on a Lenovo Ideapad 110-141BR laptop. He does not want any other OS, just Win7.

When I try to install Win7 on it, it asks "Where do you want to install Windows?" but no drives are showing (even though it has a newly installed HD in it) There is an option for "Load Drivers" but what drivers is it asking for and where can I get them?

The drive is a Seagate ST500LM021. I looked on Seagate's site and the only option I can see is "Firmware Update" which is an EXE file, so no way of extracting the .inf files onto a USB.

    Any help appreciated.

Actually, you can extract the files. (I think with 7z)

You may want to check and see if the drive is visible in BIOS.

    Drive is visible in Bios.

Tried extracting the EXE file but it wouldn't have any of it.

Anyway, I'm glad to say that I sorted. It was all thanks to DISKPART.

Opened a CMD prompt, started DISKPART, found the C: disk, used the CLEAN command then formatted it. Tried the installation again and it worked perfectly :) :) Windows 7 is now installed and running fine.
