I'm not expert in file systems, see the link above.
You'll immediately notice though, that you cannot change permissions on anything on that drive not are the ACL etc.

As i previously said, if FAT32 meets your needs then stick with it, if you need the functions that come with NTFS, i'd look at something like testdisk.
