Windows 7: Enable Hotswap on Windows 7

Enable Hotswap on Windows 7

I was having problems with activating AHCI
(hotswapping with SATA and eSATA devices).
Normally you just have to activate this in your BIOS.
But then if you boot you'll have a blue screen!
This is beceause you first have to activate the windows
AHCI drivers. You can do this in the registry editor.
I made a reg file, so you don't have to make dangerous
manipulations in your registry.

The reg file with a 'Howto' in ReadMe.txt is in attachement.

Has anyone tested this on a Windows Vista machine? I need to be able to use this on a Windows 7 machine as well as a Windows Vista machine. I thought it wasn't possible to enable hot-swap with these hard drives at all. If this works, this will be just amazing. I suppose I'll just have to cry for joy!! ;0)

Nevermind.... - I misread part of this post

Well, I jumped the gun, and got overly excited about nothing. I thought I saw something about Samsung Spinpoint F3 drives in the original post, but apparently I did not. Those are the drives I was referring to. Unfornuately, they are not hot-swappable, so far as I can find anyway. It's very sad.

Greetings. I have a quite annoying problem regarding my E-Sata functionality: I'm using an Icy-Box E-Sata case that lets me swap sata drives quickly as I push around my dataloads. That is, that's how it worked this morning before I switched from Vista to Seven. Before, I could switch off...
