    Windows 7 Won't Install Drivers

    Hey,
I am having two problems both with installing drivers. The first problem is for my Xporter XT 8GB USB flash drive. It worked fine with Vista, but now when I plug it in Windows 7 tries to install a driver and fails. The flash drive shows up in Devices, but not in Computer. So I cannot access my files in it. The second problem is Windows Updater tries to install a driver for Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN, but failed multiple times. It was working for awhile without the driver, but now doesn't. So I uninstalled the device and reinstalled the driver. Now it shows up as Network Controller and says that it is not configured right (code 1). What do I do to fix these problems? Thanks.

    Hi and welcome

The vista driver might work if installed in compatibility mode. Your best bet is to go to their website and see if they have a win 7 driver. let us know if you need help installing it

For the USB, update your chipset and try another USB port. For the card, go to Intel's site, let it download an activex control and then inspect your pc. It will download the driver for your card. Your internet connection will temporarily cut out. Use the links in the guide in my sig.

I tried to update the chip set, but it says it is already updated. I tried going into safe mode, but it only gives me the option to start in normal mode or says it had an error trying to start. I tried to do a system restore to a couple of different points, but it says that it failed because of a missing file.

Safe mode won't work? Run a command window as admin and then type sfc /scannow

Open up the start menu and type cmd, then right click and select run as administrator or press Ctrl+Shift+Enter at once.

I got safe-mode to work using run and msconfig. For some reason using the F8 way doesn't give me a safe-mode option. However, I was able to update the drivers and the devices in safe-mode and they seem to be working now. Thank you.
