Toshiba Satellite L300 notebook,s camera and modem problem in Windows 7

I upgraded windows Vista on my Toshiba satellite L300 (intel 45 express chipset, core 2 Duo 2GHz processor) with Windows 7. All drivers taken automatically. But when I started Webcam (chicony webcam) a message appeared: "Webcam driver open fail. Please restart Camera or Computer." Message persists after restaring repeatedly. Same with Modem, When I tried to connect internet on Dial up modem, message appeared "Dial tone not present." Actually Dial tone was present. Device manager is showing both devices as "Working Properly". Can any one suggest solution?

Hi iqbalhuma and welcome to the forum!

Please go to Toshiba support web and download your drivers from them as there are vista drivers for your model.

    Cheers

That is main problem. Please read problem again. Devices are working in VISTA. Problem starts when I UPGRADE VISTA to WINDOWS 7. Here Drivers are installed, But devices not function properly. Drivers were downloaded fron Toshiba's Support site.

Seeing as this is still in its beta stage, somehow the upgrade path messes things up and if you've noticed, though they've made a lot of effort to accommodate old drivers better than vista, to really see what windows 7 has to offer, you'd have to have the right drivers installed.

In your case, though the drivers are showing that they're installed, I'd strongly suggest, re-installing the drivers. I'd try the manually update driver path to make sure that your current drivers are replaced by the ones you're trying to put it.

Let us know how it goes

Have you tried Windows Update to see if it gets any drivers for your devices?

The drivers provided by Windows Update in Windows 7 (if found) are usually the most compatible...

Very interesting...You shouldn't really have any issue with your device as vista drivers for it are readily available.

Just an afterthought, please try - Windows 7 Driver Solution, just might do the trick
