Can not find printer driver - Canon Pixma iP3000

I bought a new laptop and it came with Windows 7 Premium. I have a Canon Pixma ip3000 printer. I have looked everywhere.
My printer is not listed. I tried the trick of choosing USB virtual port and then searching for the latest printers. It still wasn't there.

I have the install disk, does not work.

    Help!!!

    Hello CoCoSD,

Did you try to download the driver from Canon website?
Photo Inkjet Printers - Photo Inkjet Printers - PIXMA Pro Professional Inkjet Printers - PIXMA Corporate and Graphic Arts Printers - Photo Fun Projects - Photo Printer - PIXMA iP3000 - Canon USA Consumer Products

Select your OS and it should work.

I have a Canon iP PIXMA 1500, and it works perfect with downloaded drivers.

    Best regards,

The only driver on Canon for my printer and Windows 7 is:
    Printer Driver Add-On Module Ver.1.10 (Windows 7/7 x64)
    aomwin110ea24us.exe
    1.10
    3.99 MB
    10/25/2009

This is not the driver I need, right? This is only an add-on...

    I am sorry for this.

Have you tried to connect the printer to your PC, and turn it on?

Yes, I have. It has several other printers but not mine.
I am not sure if I should try a driver from another printer?
    Any suggestions??

    CoCoSD,

I read on a Dutch website from Canon about which printers should be supported by Windows 7, your printer is listed too.
    Ondersteuning voor consumentenproducten

Your printer should work in Windows 7 like my printer. As far as I remember, I did not download a driver to get the printer working.

When you connected your printer to the computer, and turned it on, did Windows 7 do something, did it try to recognize it?

Difficult problem, maybe someone else on this forum has some advice?

    Best regards,

Again, I have Windows 7 w/32 bit and my sytems showing no driver avaailable.
I contacted canon and was advised the driver they recommend for is just that, an add on, it will not function as a full driver. I was advised by Canon that Windows 7 had the driver, but that is true on my computer.

    Any Suggestion

I wrote to Canon and got this response:

And this worked! I had tried everything but once I restarted my system and reconnected everything in this order it did recognize it and install the correct driver automatically. Good luck!

Interesting. I have the same problem that you had, except that my Canon PIXMA iP3000 is not connected to my new Windows 7 computer; it is connected to another computer on the network.

There is NOT a PIXMA iP3000 driver listed in Windows, and there is no Windows 7 driver available for a PIXMA iP3000 on the Canon download page for the PIXMA iP3000.

I opened a support call with the friendly but obviously confused folks at Canon. I expect them to provide an actual driver.

    Found Solution (Use XP Drivers)

    Hello All,

After running into issues finding IP 3000 drivers for Windows 7, I tried the Windows XP drivers and it Worked! Extract the XP drivers, then manually add the printer.

It appears that the 32 & 64 bit versions of the Windows XP drivers will work with Vista and Windows 7. I have used the Windows 64bit IP3000 driver on my 64bit Windows 7 system and it works like a charm (even over a wireless network print server). Hope this helps!
