    Please Help, NO internet

Hello, I am currently using the D-Link Wua 2340 wireless G adapter on my desktop but recently have been experiencing issues.
I had been getting BSOD so another user told me it was the drivers for the adapter so I uninstalled them and downloaded the most recent version, but when I try to install them it comes to a step where it says "insert your new hardware and click next". So I plug it in and click next but it says it's unplugged. I have tried multiple times uninstalling/re-installing running in compatibility for Windows Vista/XP. Everything I can think of. I also tried using device manager to update the drivers but it says they are already the most recent. The adapter worked before I uninstalled the drivers but now I need to run an ugly Ethernet cord around my house for internet

    Use device manager like this:

Right click the device. Update driver software. Browse my computer. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse. Find and double click the .inf. Hit ok. Hit next.

Is there an option rollback driver under the device in properties? if yes, try it.

After several Hours with 4 Windows Techs...

I had a laundry list of problems including no sound, no backup, no internet, no ready boost, no security, etc... after an aborted program installation and a bad Windows shutdown

If you can, create a restore point before proceeding.
See http://www.blackviper.com/Windows_7/servicecfg.htm for additional information about services settings.

There are at least 3 component services required for recognition of hardware and drivers for internet access and several more for security software and security monitoring to operate!

    Start---execute on command line "service.msc"
    Or
    Start--All Programs
    Administrative Tools--
    Component Services---Services (local) [maximize window]

Inspect the list of component services (screens of them). Select disabled services one-by-one, reset Startup Type to "automatic" (a few won't allow this or will reset properly at reboot). You can attempt to start each service as they are activated (some are dependent on other services, view with tab of dialog) or reboot after all are activated.

I had about 3/4 of the services disabled. Took about 3/4 hour to reactivate. Results were pleasing to the eye and effort!

Use the driver from here to install:

    D-Link RangeBooster G USB Adapter

If you follow the method I outlined, it has no choice but to install well.
