Sounds like you need to install the intel chipset drivers.

Chipset: Intel® Chipset Device Software for Intel® Desktop Boards

Let us know if this helped?

The PCI Simple Communication Controller bang in Device Manager is quite common. I know of several people who have noticed this and none of them are noticing any ill effects from it. It may or may not disappear if you install the chipset drivers. It's unknown if Intel will later provide a fix for it, but I'm not worried about it as it doesn't cause any issues.

Not trying to start an argument but how does this fix the problem he's having right now?

    Sygnus:

It was just my obtuse and pathetically inept way of telling him that the PCI Simple Communications Controller error is common, may be of no consequence, and may remain, regardless of what he does. His expansion cards may continue not to work.

Its always a good idea to get rid of issues in device manager.

OP, are you using the stuff onboard for your sound, or do you have a sound card?

For these devices to work you need to install the correct drivers for them, post the model tv capture card you have and the we will help you find the driver to use. If they have a vista driver then most times it will work under windows 7, but if no vista driver was made, it might not be possible to get them working under windows 7.

    No kidding...

I gave my input based on the OP's post as presented.

YES it could, and probably is, a driver issue as well. That's probably a high possibility, and one I don't disagree with.

    Peace

If my suggestion doesn't work, then I would highly suggest you look for current Windows 7 drivers for the items that aren't working as ccatlett1984 has suggested. Actually I would suggest you install the latest drivers for those items anyway.

    Good luck
